We process personal data that you provide to us yourself via forms on this website, by email, by telephone or in connection with an assignment. This includes, among other things: first and last name, organisation, job title, email address, telephone number, postal address, details of your request, the content of your message, invoicing and payment details and, where relevant, information you provide as a source, interviewee or subject.
In addition, we process limited technical data sent by your browser, such as IP address, browser type, operating system and pages visited, insofar as necessary to make the website function and to secure it.
We process your personal data only insofar as necessary for: (a) performing an agreement or taking pre-contractual steps at your request; (b) complying with a legal obligation; (c) a legitimate interest, such as securing our website, preventing fraud and improving our services; (d) journalistic purposes, to which the GDPR regime for journalistic processing applies; (e) your consent, where we explicitly request it, for example for analytical or marketing cookies.
We do not retain your personal data for longer than necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, or for as long as we are legally required to do so. Contact requests are, in principle, retained for a maximum of two (2) years. Accounting records are retained for seven (7) years in accordance with the statutory tax retention obligation. Longer retention periods may apply to journalistic productions, insofar as necessary for verification, archiving and source protection.
We only share your personal data with third parties if this is necessary for the performance of an agreement, to comply with a legal obligation, or on the basis of your explicit consent.
